Entyvio is an advanced, biologic, first-line therapy for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD), which is a lifelong, chronic and severe condition affecting nearly 4 million patients. Entyvio is Takeda’s largest global brand and is estimated to achieve global sales of over $4bn. For EUCAN (Europe & Canada), Entyvio is the number one growth driver for the region over the Mid Range Plan period and is expected to benefit over 100,000 patients by 2020. Role Objective • Lead the Entyvio brand for EUCAN in support of achieving Takeda’s ambition to become the number one company in IBD. • Provide strategic insights, define priorities, make critical recommendations and decisions required to drive brand success, shape brand strategy, ensure effective execution and challenge current thinking in order to serve patients, build trust, reputation and business. Accountabilities • Lead the Integrated Brand Team for Entyvio and ensure effective cross-functional collaboration with medical affairs, market access, customer excellence, patient advocacy, insights & analytics, finance, HR, communications and other functions as necessary. • Partner closely with the Local Operating Company (LOC) General Managers (GMs) and IBD Business Unit Directors (BUDs) across EUCAN to ensure alignment with brand strategy and priorities, to identify opportunities for improved performance as well as best practices to share across the region. • Ensure the organization is prepared and executes a successful launch of the Entyvio Subcutaneous formulation. • Be the commercial expert on EUCAN wide market trends, disease and treatment developments, competitive strategies and positioning and leverage those insights to shape global and regional strategy, key brand priorities and tactical execution plans. • Establish a patient first mind-set to ensure fast and broad access to Entyvio through value based schemes and integrated care solutions and to support the creation of strategic partnerships with patient advocacy groups and institutional stakeholders that benefit patients. • Lead the execution of regional level programs to help build the brand perception of Entyvio and of Takeda within the IBD community, to help drive Entyvio brand success and establish Takeda as a preferred partner of choice for customers. • Drive the use of data and analytical tools to enable an insights driven culture where decisions are based on facts and insight. • Apply critical thinking, business acumen and market insights to ensure forecasts reflect Entyvio full potential and achieve brand objectives. • Deliver regular, insightful and impactful presentations and updates on Entyvio to the EUCAN President, leadership team and broader community to align the organization on brand strategy and inspire our teams to achieve the ambition to be the leading company in IBD. • Focus the organization on the few priorities that matter most and deliver operational excellence. Experience • Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) MBA or degree in Biology, Chemistry, or related science (Preferred) • At least years 8 experience with increasing responsibilities in sales, marketing or related function • Experience in regional headquarter • Experience in healthcare marketing positions at a commercial pharmaceutical organization • Industry knowledge – understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and key customer channels • Biologics knowledge – understanding of biologics, launch specificities and preferably biosimilars environment. • Therapeutic knowledge – understanding of the disease state, treatment paradigms and future trends. • Strategic Thinking – possesses a vision for the brand/franchise, builds a plan and executes to achieve • Business Acumen – ability to make sound business decisions by having a strong understanding about business, balancing unique regional/local needs, financial objectives, and risks/benefits of decisions • Analytical – ability to use logic and analysis to solve ambiguous/complex business problems • Marketing Techniques – understanding of pharmaceutical marketing methods, tools and concepts (e.g. market research, advertising, international congresses and key events, public relations, media placement, etc.) • Leadership – ability to inspire and empower others to be at their best and deals with corrective actions in a manner that inspires accountability. • Influence without authority - ability to work in a cross-functional team with medical, pricing and access, other support functions as well as with LOC teams to plan and execute key initiatives • Executive Communication – ability to clearly and succinctly communicate (verbally/written) in a persuasive and appropriate manner at the executive level.
