Job Fonction Purpose of the role Advise subsurface geology and geophysics teams for Nigeria, Cameroon, Gabon, Iraq, and UK to achieve stated goals of the yearly work plans in terms of delivery of the Integrated Technical Work Programmes (ITWPs), Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets (especially Field Development Plans, reserves, new fields, well deliveries, capex spend, project milestones), annual budgets and long term 5-year business plans. As Principle Technical Advisor - Geology & Geophysics work with the Executive Committee and Technical Leadership team to formulate and advise technical work programmes and area development strategies to develop and optimize the existing and discovered resource base along with incorporating new assets into the base business. Objectives Accountable for advising on and quality assurance of global subsurface geological and geophysical workstreams and deliverables. Advise management, subsurface, operations and support teams on how Addax can best meet annual KPIs (Production, Reserves, 2C contingent resource to 2P Reserves conversions, RRR, project milestones, profits, cash flows). Help build organizational capability to support Adda’s base business and set the organization on a path for optimization and growth. Mentor, coach and develop geological and geophysical staff. Work with SIPC and Sinopec Beijing organizations (Pepris, ARDP, Sinopec Corp) to communicate technical support requirements, share best practices and foster good relations. Others Take a lead role in technical initiatives and task force teams. Functional skills What technical skills are required for success in the role ? Excellent knowledge/experience of all aspects of oil field exploration and development in onshore and offshore environments in West African, Middle East, and European settings. Able to take on guidance role for geological and geophysical staff on delivering high-quality, timely and materially impactful work. Extensive commercial background to understand value creation strategies and measuring corporate performance. Experienced in project management, production operations, reservoir monitoring, forecasting and concept development. Ability to think strategically and develop winning development strategies. Excellent communicator (clear, concise and accurate). Focused towards achieving goals/milestones with excellence, efficiency and highest quality. Excellent Coach to develop and mentor others in subsurface technical and entry- to mid-level technical manager roles.
