PROJECT OFFICER SOCAR Trading was incorporated in December 2007 as the marketing arm of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). As SOCAR trading continues to grow and keep seeking for new opportunities we are looking for a Project Officer. Responsibilities Manage business opportunities in order to create and improve profitability of the company with focus on LNG projects Create long-term value for SOCAR Trading globally through the development of relationships amongst our customers, the markets and potential clients Internal coordination on the deals with involved trading divisions Follow up on projects and reporting to Chief Project Officer (such as presentation, work progress etc.) Propose potential business deals to management and traders with potential partners through discovering and exploring new and existing opportunities Maintain customer relationships and ensure customer loyalty through excellent customer service as well as meeting all client needs appropriate to their business Conduct individual analysis (e.g., benchmarking, financial modelling, gap analysis) and build specific Excel models as required Support the relevant state bodies on conclusion of government-to-government supply deals Actively contribute to the identification of key issues/opportunities/risks, formulation and implementation of solutions relevant to the project Perform key project/program management activities and administer all project documentation and tracking of projects in collaboration with offshore project/program management support resources (e.g., milestones/activity/benefits tracking, management of action lists, risks and issues etc.) Create and operate effective control environment while maintaining project planning, scheduling and resource capacity, project financials and budgets tracking Provide clear and accurate information about the project deliverables and timeframes Prepare weekly and monthly reports on project status, and financial results Position Requirements Master’s degree required from top universities Up to 2 years relevant work experience in project management in the Oil & Gas Industry with exposure to LNG Certificates confirming entry-level training on LNG market and industry and LNG trading A fluent level of English, Russian and Turkic languages is mandatory Solid knowledge of the Caspian Region Excellent presentation and communication skills (oral and written) Ability to work under pressure and to deliver on strict deadlines on a timely manner Experience in working with governments to achieve state-sponsored supply deals Experience building financial models and reports Strong organization skills and excellent interpersonal skills; Team-player and ability to work independently; ability to deal effectively with partners; project leadership; research and writing skills; Experience in project planning and budgeting and working with virtual data rooms If you possess the above skills and are interested in this challenging opportunity, then please send your full CV in English at recruitment (at) socartrading.com with the subject Project Officer.
