As a Software Developer/Programmer and full member of the LHCb team, your role will cover both software development and operational activities. You will be actively involved in all LHCbDirac development discussions. Your main tasks will - at least in a first instance - include: Coordinate, and contribute to, the DMS development within (LHCb) Dirac. Coordinate a small team of developers, mostly as CERN fellows or students and participate in the overall integration within LHCbDirac. Contribute to more strategic discussions on the evolution of the whole project, even outside the DMS, and on the evolution of the LHCb Computing Model. Fulfil the role of LHCb Data Manager and participate in the LHCb Computing Operations, including on-call services as Grid Expert On-Call. Qualification required PhD/doctorate in the field of computing, or equivalent. Experience and competencies The experience required for this post is: Extensive experience in the management of large distributed datasets. Demonstrated experienced as programmer of Python applications. An initial experience with the High Energy Physics environment and its specific requirements will be appreciated. The technical competencies required for this post are: Programming/Software development: fluent in python programming language, good knowledge of unix scripting. Requirements definition and management. Release management. Application support. Technical Advice and Guidance. The language competencies required are: English and French Work in Radiation Areas. Interventions in underground installations. Work during nights, Sundays and official holidays, when required by the needs of the Organization.
